"impossible to I'm possible" Our clients expose some of the most difficult aspects of human condition. We enlist as volunteers suicide attempt survivors. One amazing OLH food shelf helper is a father whose son (JM), is with his mom in a different city. JM is 17, suicidal, withdrawn, heavily medicated, and dealing with Gender Dysphoria. In 2017 we employed another. RQ, was an armed serial bank robber on parole. We at OLH recognized his artistic ability. OLH employed him to repair of body work on the OLH vehicle in Jordan neighborhood of North Mpls. He has been sustained greatly by the OLH food shelf in North Mpls. JG, a dedicated OLH food shelf volunteer, has been conducting amazing basketball programs every Wednesday for kids coming from homes of domestic violence in North Minneapolis. JV, a frequent OLH Baskets of Hope recipient and OLH food shelf volunteer, has been working for women at the Healing House, a shelter for surviving abuse victim single mothers and children, in North Mpls. SD, a single mom recently hospitalized and now back home with 3 her 5 children, has been suffering from consequences of wrong decisions (addictions). For 5 years, OLH volunteer AM continues to do her part to help sustain her with Hope Baskets, wise counsel, and accountability regarding raising the children in North Mpls.
